Anyone have a really good vacuum hose diagram for the CE. Also what pressure is normal at different locations. The hose (?) that goes from the engine to the heater control on my CE is extreemly small, doesn't appear to be a lot of suction. Don' t know if this is the correct hose or was a replacement. I have some copies from the 82 repair manual but wonder if there is something better out there. Reason asking is that I do not have heat, and there does not seem to be any suction at the engine heater control valve. All the hoses going to and from seem to be ok.

Thanks, I had the one from mid america but the other two seem to have alot of info. Will try to check this system thoroughly this week. Is the hose from the vacuum port on the engine to the hearter control extreemly small on your CE. Like the size of the period......... maybe a little larger not a lot? Since it's getting to be winter, I'll have a lot of time to work on this. (Only been saying this for 3 years now).

Yes, very small indeed..

Initially i thought it was the wrong hose, but it's a control hose, so to speak and doesnt need a lot of vacuum to go through. The main one for the headlights have to be bigger as they flow quite some HGs.

Good luck with it. My tip: Just follow the diagrams and instructions. :wink:

I converted a camping hand pumper that can do either direction (blow air or suck air) to be my vacuum tool of choice. When i want to 'create' vacuum without starting the engine, i plug that thing in and pretend to be a V8. :lol:

Works quite well actually. I find that with the engine on, i can barely hear a hiss or feel air, asides from the neighbors giving me the hairy eyeball due to the car running. :lol:
