Only thing I've got to do is fix the heater, the hoses have been disconnected from the heater core. Hoping the core is not leaking.

Disconnected heater hoses, that could be a problem. I'd be prepared for a leak. :)

I'm still here, so rarley.. Forum's gone pretty quiet.

Mine was out of business over the winter, but back in action now, just a few had to does and the Mech took his time (4 month) getting parts and doing it right.. :x

Maybe we'll need a Hey Anyone Still out There thread??

We had a very mild winter in Illinois. The middle of March was in the high 70's and low 80's. Drove the 82 CE quite a bit on the week-ends. I have a hand full of small things to fix. I would like to take it to the Illinois NCRS state meeting to get it judged. The paint and seats look like crap, but I will get a checklist of not so obvious things that need fixing to be factory correct.

You are correct, this site has been very quiet lately.

Are all the 82 CEs restored already and don't need any more work?

dj_miller, do you live in southern or northern Ill. I'm looking for the screws that hold in the black plastic covers insde to the t-tops. Any chance we can work something out that you could somehow mail one to me so I can take it to a bolt shop and find what I need then send back? This site has ben very inactive for a long time, not sure what had happened.

I live in northern Illinois in one of Chicago's western suburbs. I'll check with my Corvette mechanic friend about those screws. Minimally, he'll know exactly what screws those are. He may have some. How many do you need?

Thanks, there are 4 screws. The go into the black top covers. Center of the T-top rail front and back. Any help is appreciated. Tried numbers of screws not fit and I don't want to force something in there.

I talked with my Vette mechanic friend. Turns out that back in the day, he reparied the glass T-tops for C3s for a profit.

The screws are all supposed to be #8 screws with #6 heads.
They are posi-drive screws (?) that look like phillip head screws to most of up.
And they and are counter-sunk screws with black heads .

I pulled a couple of mine to see how long they are. When I showed them to my friend, neither screw was correct. I pulled one more of the long ones, also incorrect. Apparently, Bubba worked on my car at one time; why else change all the screws to incorrect ones.

Anyhow, the two length of screws are 3.8" and 1".

I'm told that if you use too long a screw, you can crack the glass. If you can't find any, let me know. I'm probably going to order a box of phillip head screws in each size. I'm told they are not too expensive and I can use them elsewhere.
