EDIT: I entered the whole VIN and it gave me the wrong date. When I enter only the last five digits it gives me the correct date of June 2, 1982, so I have to wait a few more months to celebrate. :D Here's a link to the birthday calculator:

Congrats. As DAWG said 'What did you buy?' :P

Now my problem on the date calander is that on my vin (3413) is showing January 12th, 1982. Which is right on all my infromation I have. Which means it's only 24 years old.

Looking at yours (15230) is showing June 2nd, 1982. Isn't that 24 years too!

I'm confused or I didn't do this right.... :?

I don't know about this birthday calculator... when I put in the entire VIN it gives me Oct. 26, 1981, but when I put in the last five digits it gives me June 2, 1982. Since my car is number 15,230 out of about 25,000, October seems pretty early. However, I think June seems a little late unless '82 production ran longer than the normal July or early August cutoff. That may have happened because of the lack of an '83 model year, but otherwise June seems a little late to me. That would mean that they built almost 10,000 of the 25,000 '82 Corvettes in June, July, and maybe August 1982 (2-3 months), and only 15,000 cars from Sept. 1981 to May 1982 (9 months). My Blackbook doesn't break down the monthly production numbers for '82 like it does for earlier years. Any thoughts?

Oh, and I'm getting her new tires and probably a whole new paint job, but I can make her wait if her birthday really isn't until next June!

In the Birthday Calc thingy, it says to only enter the last 5 digits, i've never put the entire VIN in there. And if you look at the actual registry (the VIN entries of all users here), you se a good smattering across the spectrum. I dont know the monthly production numbers either, sorry..

Here is my little math experiment (I flunked math so be carefull  ):

Mine is Vin #15991, yours #15230, so that makes it 760 cars between ours.. Between June 2nd and 11th, there are 6 working days (discounting Sat & Sun).. Soooooo:
760 cars in 6 days, that makes 126 odd cars a day. 20 work days in a month on average. 20 times 125 = 2500 cars a month..
12 times 2500 makes 30000 cars.. So, on full tilt, yes, quite possible..

Disclaimer: The fuzzy math above is 100% INCORRECT. Just having a little fun with numbers..

Mine comes up Dec 3 81. The VIN # is 00781.
From what I have learned, production started at 00001 & I believe the 17th VIN # was lost, so that makes it the 779th car built (if my info is correct).
That makes it a very early production car, or so it seems. 8)

I also received my build sheet & window sticker from the NCM last week, plus I have the original dealer sales sheet. Everything matches up so now I have the paper trail to prove it's history. :D
