Just received an email from Steve that the magic number of 8 order requests has been acheived and that he will put these into production.
I am new to the registry and was fortunate to have found this forum when I did as I have been struggling with the hatch problem for some time.
Hopefully Steve will get these produced for us quickly with the same positive results as I have read concerning the prototypes.

I finally got my new hinges put in last weekend that Steve
made for me. I must say when I took the old hinges out and
held them up against the new ones, I thought something was
wrong. The new hinges were more than an inch shorter than
the stock ones. I didn't think there was any way they would fit.
But sure enough, there was enough adjustment and the glass
needed pulled forward enought to make them fit like a glove.
Now for the first time, the hatch flys open on it's own as soon
as you touch the release handle! These hinges were expensive,
but they sure work!

I think I came a little late into this forum. I need a set of those hinges myself, but didn't find this post until a little late. I have attempted e-mailing, but get no response as of yet.

Welcome to our family. I do hope Steve replies back to you. It's up to him if he does make yours. Good Luck. :)

I think Steve just moved to the Dallas area, so you're pretty much local. Point that out to him when you contact him. Maybe he'd agree to make an extra pair to help out a local guy.

If we need to reach a minimum of buyers, you may sign me up for a set. I don't really have an issue with the hatch itself. I replaced the lifters about 3 years ago and it still opens with no problem but I did have to adjust the latches. I would be interested in replacing the latches if Steve makes them as well.

My main concern is the seal. I replaced the rubber seal but still have air leaks, is this something we have to live with or will the new hinges help? Is there anything that can make it better?

I sent Steve an email @ a month ago. He got back to me to say he was busy and would get back to me when things calmed down.
Today I emailed him again. I'll let you know when I hear somthing, but it would appear that there are several of us who still need these.

I'm keepin the Faith!
